During her internship at the Consulate General of the Netherlands in San Francisco, she conducted research on social media and diplomacy. In addition, she has worked and travelled in over fifty countries around the world, which makes her sensitive to various cultural contexts. Moreover, she enjoyed learning new things and meeting new people every day.

Carolijn has worked as a tutor for the following courses: ‘Women in the World’ (San Francisco State University), ‘International Relations’ (University of Otago) and ‘Culture, Politics, Policy and Global Media’ (University of Otago).
